Feed back pleaseI'm new to using a da polisher the 1 I'm going to use is the PorterCable 7424xp. I posted a message on finding the best pads to use and received several responses. Nike recommends mastering the flat pads and then moving up to the grooved & waffle pads. What kind of pad is on the backing plate that comes w/the buffer? I don't recall Mike making any reference to it in his how to videos. Is that something that is removable or can you place other pads on top of it? thanks,Richard
I have a PC 7424XP what are the best kind of foam pads to use? I currently have reticulated open cell pads in orange, white, and blue. I'm not doing show cars its daily drivers that I do. I know you have to keep an ample supply of pads on hand since you never know how much work your going to have to put into a job until you inspect in closely. Richard44
:pc7424: I have the PorterCable 7424xp h d model which I see that Mike uses frequently how much difference is there between the PorterCable & the Flex I know the Flex is direct drive and spins faster where you don't have to work as hard as you do w/the PorterCable to get the correction you want. AutoGeek informs me thta they are both quality machines Thanx,Richard
Hi to every one I'm a junior member so this is my first posting. I have some questions is the Meguiars correction kit able to be used w/the Porter Cable 7424xp hd? 2). I know jewelling paint is an optional step would it be worth the extra time doing to a daily driver? I know its a long tedious process and sometimes you won't notice any big difference in the paint. 3). How easy is it to use the paint chiop repair kits? I have a Malibu LTZ and the car sits so low that the front valance gets scratched an d chiped up. 4). What is the best way for cleaning windows? I have tried every thing I know how to do and continue to get streaks. I don't even like cleaning them anymore. Thanks Richard:xyxthumbs:
